We began by visiting the Graciosa Museum, as a starting point for exploring the island and its industrial, cultural, and natural heritage.
On Graciosa, there is a saying: “On the island, there is more wine than water.” Its meaning is linked to two historical factors—the high quality of the wine and the scarcity of drinking water. We then head to our second stop: the Adega e Cooperativa Agrícola da Ilha Graciosa, where we will learn about the Pedras Brancas wine, the first VQPRD from the Azores, as well as two other products representative of the island: the famous melon and garlic, both certified by the Marca Açores. The visit concludes with a wine tasting, “Degustar a Graciosa.”
