Quinta Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, dating back to 1888, is located in São Vicente Ferreira, approximately 11 km from the city of Ponta Delgada and 13 km from the city of Ribeira Grande, on the island of São Miguel. It is a rural tourism establishment that opened to the public in 1999. This farm also features a traditional wine cellar equipped with all the tools necessary for wine production. Using organic methods, the farm grows vegetables, fruits—including passion fruit—and grapes for the production of the well-known “vinho de cheiro.” The owners will be delighted to show visitors the stages of grape growth and how they are subsequently transformed into wine in their cellar. Visitors can sample regional Azorean products, such as cornbread, sausage, blood sausage, cheese, and yams. They will also have access to wines, liqueurs, and spirits produced in the Azores.
