We begin our tour in Velas, at the Cunha da Silveira House Museum, where the various exhibits showcase the main activities carried out by the people of Jorga over the centuries, such as weaving, fishing, agriculture, and other trades.

Next, we head to the Francisco de Lacerda Museum, built on the ruins of the former Marie d’Anjou Canning Factory, on the hillside overlooking Calheta Harbor. There, we will have the opportunity to explore its collections, which focus on themes related to the island of São Jorge, music (classical, popular, works by Francisco de Lacerda, and philharmonic bands), and the canning industry, among others.
We will then proceed to the meeting point at the Lourais Dairy Farmers’ Cooperative, where we will meet Emanuel Fontes, who will guide us to the final stop on our tour—the Emanuel Fontes Farm—for a unique opportunity to participate in the milking process.
